500px Fujifilm Photo Walk - Astoria

Hello Photo Fans!

Back at the end of September I had the pleasure of going on a photowalk around Astoria, Queens with some very cool fellow photographers, and even cooler, we were all women!  I got to explore a new area with some locals and we visited some cool sites including Astoria Park, the Welling Court Wall Murals, the Two Coves Community Garden, and the Socrates Sculpture Garden.  We even had a snack at the Astor Bake Shop!

All in all, it was a very cool area to check out and the people showing me around really knew interesting places to explore so this is a big thank you shout out to them!  If you ever want to find some inspiration in Astoria, check out some of the locations we visited below:

Starting off under the Triborough / RFK Bridge in Astoria Park

Mr. Art Snob at the Welling Court Murals

This little guy has a special place in my heart, one of the girls pointed him out and other than his very entertaining commentary about the current state of street art... if you look very closely, some snarky soul has attached a sticker to his chest.  What's on the sticker you ask?  "Fucking Hipster".  Says it all.

Remembering to look up, also at the Welling Court Wall Murals

Hair on Fire

Sunset over northern Manhattan from Astoria Park

We really lucked out with this timing, we made a big loop around Astoria and ended up back at the park just in time for this spectacular sunset.  I hope you enjoyed my mini tour of Astoria, definitely plan an adventure day there soon!
