Charleston Eats - June 2025

June Eats:

Here are all of the noteworthy places where I ate in Charleston, SC in June 2025.

My friend from NY visited Charleston for the first time so I rounded up some favorites to share with him:

  • Magnolias - Downtown, East Bay Street

    • This is a classic Charleston staple, and a must visit for first time Charleston visitors and locals alike. When my friend came to visit for the first time, I knew I had to take him for some classic but elevated lowcountry food. It never disappoints.

  • Berkeley’s - Downtown, Hampton Park

    • A great spot for a casual lunch or dinner with a neighborhood feel, this spot has been one of my favorites since moving to Charleston 3 years ago.

  • Brown Dog Deli - Downtown, Calhoun Street

    • My favorite lunch / sandwich place located a short walk off King Street in the middle of downtown. Frequented by college students & doctors from the nearby campus & hospitals, they have great food & prices. Plus the inside is a fun tip down memory lane with all of the nostalgic gaming paraphernalia

  • Dashi - North Charleston

    • A North CHS favorite, this locals spot combines Latin + Asian fusion, with a milkshake menu as a delicious bonus.

  • Ciudad Bonita - Park Circle, North Charleston

    • Delicious Colombian fare in a fun and funky location right on the main street of Park Circle. Good for lunch or dinner.

A week after my friend visited, my mom visited. She’s been to Charleston a bunch so we focused on a few fun new places.

  • Villa Cantina - West Ashley

    • Mexican fare with a huge outdoor (dog friendly) patio

  • Charleston RiverDogs Stadium - Downtown

    • Baseball isn’t always the most veggie friendly place, BUT, the RiverDogs do have some options.

    • Charlie’s Passport is my favorite - they have an Asian inspired cauliflower rice bowl that is pretty good

    • There is also a veggie burger option at the spots that sell burgers & hot dogs.

Bonus this month, a great bar in West Ashley / Avondale area: All My Exes

  • This little female owned cocktail bar is tucked into the Avondale main street and is a great spot for a cocktail and a chat with friends!
