If you're spending a week or two in southern Spain, consider adding a day trip from Seville to Jerez de la Frontera (just Jerez for short) to your itinerary. Jerez is most famous as the home of Sherry, so a trip here isn't complete without visiting at least one production house / factory / bodega. For my trip, we chose the Bodega Fundador.
Just like most wineries or breweries, get a tour of the facility to see the impressive store houses and learn a bit more about Sherry. Fundador is also owner of a few other brands, including Harvey's Bristol Cream, so after the tour make sure to have a tasting along with some famous Spanish jamón.
After your tour and tasting, head towards the middle of town and find a nice shaded spot for some lunch. We enjoyed the small square where La Cruz Blanca has tables sprawled out under the trees. Pull up a chair and relax the afternoon away.
I hope you enjoyed this day trip to Jerez, if you follow my footsteps , please let me know in the comment section below about your experience!
Thanks for coming along,
~ V
