May Eats:
Here are all of the noteworthy places where I ate in Charleston, SC in May 2024.
Crepes Palace - North Charleston
Great breakfast & lunch option in NC, also close to the outlets if you want to grab a bite before shopping. Veggie options!
Carmella's Cafe and Dessert Bar - Downtown, East Bay
The best dessert spot in town, I stopped in for a drink and cannoli before meeting my family for dinner one night. Because dessert first!
The Palmetto Hotel Lobby Bar - Downtown, East Bay
I stopped in here for a cocktail with a friend because we know some of the bar staff. Ambiance is nice but the drinks are a little pricy for downtown.
The Den at Frannie & the Fox - Downtown, near City Market. It’s inside the Emeline Hotel (just walk through the lobby, take a right into the restaurant, and go all the way to be back).
This cocktail bar is tucked behind a restaurant and they do themed decorations throughout the year, so this is a fun spot to stop in for a drink and to see the current decor.
Sugey’s Bar - Downtown, upper King Street
One of my favorite dive bars in town, they do a mean punch bowl and always have some kind of 80s movie on the tv.
My family was in town for a few days, so we went to Cru Cafe & SNOB (Slightly North of Broad) together for dinners downtown. Both menus are a little meat heavy but if you’re vegetarian you can find some options. Not for the vegans though.

Dinner at Chasing Sage (monthly Spotlight)
Chasing Sage is my favorite restaurant downtown. I come here often for a fantastic time, and this month I remembered to take photos at multiple meals so here is a spread of selections over multiple nights. All were delicious, obviously.
