Charleston Eats - August 2025

August Eats:

Here are all of the noteworthy places where I ate in Charleston, SC in August 2025.

The Grit Counter - North Charleston

  • Great for breakfast / lunch, and especially grit lovers. My friend got the grit flight and yes, that is an option. My bowl was delicious.

Dashi - Hanahan, North Charleston

  • I usually go here for lunch or dinner to enjoy their latin x asian fusion menu, but sometimes you just need something from their extensive milkshake / sundae menu. Especially perfect on hot summer days.

Bok Choy Boy - Avondale, West Ashley

  • This Filipino / pan-asian place has a small menu and is located inside the Charles Towne Fermentory in Avondale. I had the peanut sauce noodles and they were delicious. Would go there again to try more!

MOMO - Riverfront Park, Park Circle, North Charleston

  • This is a lovely brunch spot with park / water views and a nice outside dining area. Went here for a birthday brunch with friends and enjoyed the cocktails and the ambiance. Great date spot.

All My Exes - Avondale, West Ashley

  • Cute female owned cocktail bar with a fun meu and great vibes.

Jinya Ramen Bar - Upper East Bay / Morrison Drive, Downtown

  • Came in here with some friends, they all got ramen and enjoyed it. I had already eaten earlier so I just got some impossible dumplings and a matcha tiramisu. Both were great, and all of my friends enjoyed their ramen as well. Good bowl size for the ramen.

Avondale Wine & Cheese - West Ashley

  • Great wine selection with a nice mix of tapas & cheese. The tapas / cheese only comes out a bit a fruit and nuts, not a big spread like some spots. But the ambiance is nice so good for a reading or chatting date.

Monthly Wrap-Up at The Archer

If you’ve been around a while, you’ll know I love The Archer downtown on upper Meeting Street. Between the food, the ambiance, and the people, it’s my recent replacement haunt after the closing of Chasing Sage. You can usually find me at the bar enjoying dinner or dessert with a skillfully crafted cocktail. Here are a few of the delicious things I ate & drank there this month.
