In early September I went up to Providence, RI for a work site visit. I got to stay overnight and so made the most of an evening on the beautiful waterway in the middle of town.
I hopped an early morning flight up to Providence, grabbed a rental car, and went to my site visit. On the way I needed some veggie friendly lunch and found this lovely little spot:
They had a great to-go lunch selection, yay finding veggie friendly spots while traveling :)
After I was done with my work for the day, I headed down to Water Street in downtown Providence to park and made my way to Plant City per a friend’s recommendation (thank you Jason!). This vegan hot spot combines a market/coffee shop and a sit down restaurant. It’s a perfect spot for local students to grab a snack and set up a laptop, or for locals & travelers alike to have a great meal. I spent a few hours there finishing up some work emails and then enjoying dinner outside on the terrace. I highly recommend sitting outside on a nice summer night to enjoy the view.
After dinner I took a lovely long stroll along the river / canal and was treated with a gorgeous sunset. The whole river walk is a pedestrian dream with a boardwalk, chess games, lawns chairs, and a few cute little food options. This was such a highlight, it makes me want to take a long weekend trip up here to explore even more and enjoy this beautiful area.
Thanks for coming along with me to Providence for the evening. Please drop your recommendations in the comments so I can go explore some more in the future!
Happy Travels
