Eating My Way Through Cincinnati

Once again I was in Cincinnati for a week for work, but this trip I had a bit more free time so I really focused on all of the foodie delights Cincy had to offer. See below for a mix of fancy and low key options, with a focus on great plant-friendly finds.

Salazar (Downtown)

New American. I sat in the bar area instead of the dining room, and I was extremely impressed with the service here. The staff across the board were professional and knowledgeable. The multiple bartenders also doubled as the bar seating servers and did both jobs seamlessly. I’m always looking for great service along with delicious food and this place delivered that in spades. Food wise I had a delightful cocktail, a tasty salad, and some truly incredible gnocchi. Finished up with a lemon poppy tart and a second cocktail. Overall great experience, would recommend.

Factory 52 (Norwood)

My work team and I came here for a group dinner at the food hall (lots of fun options), and ended up staying for trivia. The bonus was definitely seeing the old United States Playing Card Co. card factory be repurposed into modern condos & retail / food spaces. Even the leftover building facades had cool art installations. I even grabbed a new deck of cards from the specialty card pack vending machine located inside the food hall. I love playing cards so this was a fun surprise for me.

Boquet (Covington)

American Seasonal Bistro. I went over to Covington for an evening on the recommendation of a co-worker. She knows that it can be hard to find vegetarian friendly places while traveling, not to mention vegan friendly places, but Boquet delivered! They offer a fully vegan or vegetarian tasting menu option, so I had to try it. I was quite full by dessert but happily so. I definitely recommend this for any plant loving folks, and anyone who enjoys seasonal dishes.

Northside Yacht Club (Northside)

After a few fancy (and expensive) evenings out, I decided to check out this funky little dive bar / locals restaurant. While this is in no way an actual yacht club (it’s not even on the water), they did have a surprisingly good veggie friendly menu. So if you want something a bit more casual but still plant friendly, this was a great find.

Thanks for coming along with me to Cincinnati for the week. Please drop your recommendations (especially for any good veggie-friendly options) in the comments so I can go explore some more on future trips!

Happy Travels
