A Day in Louisville KY

This month I made a trip to Cincinnati for work for a week, but I flew out a day early so I could go down to Louisville (less than a 2 hour drive from Cincy) to spend the day, see some friends, and explore some new and old favorite spots.

Tyler Park

First up was lunch at Ramsi’s (great for veggie options, and always delicious). Followed up by a stop into Carmichael’s Bookstore.

NULU

After lunch and books I went over to Nulu for some shopping. I always stop into Red Tree for unique and interesting gifts, and Revelry for local artisan goods + to check out their current gallery exhibit in the back.

Smoketown / Germantown

All that shopping on a cold gray day made me want to relax for a bit, so I stopped into Nook and Nowhere to enjoy the combo of coffee shop, bar, and bookstore. I got out my stitching and enjoyed a nice drink before grabbing dinner at Toasty’s Tavern down the street. Toasty’s is a local haunt, definitely known for more comfort / bar food but they do a great (if a bit greasy) veggie burger. Hits the spot.

Downtown

If you were around in my nomad travel days, you might remember my favorite bar in Louisville is Meta (see my whole post about them here). My last stop on this day trip was of course to grab a final drink here. Sadly the bar is closing so I wanted to have a farewell beverage before going up to Cincy. Cheers to an amazing run Meta, you will be missed.

Thanks for coming along with me to Louisville for the day. Please drop your recommendations in the comments so I can go explore some more on future trips!

Happy Travels
