November Highlights:

  • Parents and I went to a few hockey games at the local South Carolina (Charleston) Stingrays.

  • Celebrated my birthday with friends.

  • My favorite Charleston event of the year: YAllfest

  • Quick one-day work trip to Atlanta.

  • Monthly Silent Book Club Charleston meetups at Love Spell Books in Summerville & All My Exes bar in Avondale / West Ashley.

  • No Charleston Eats post this month since I spent so much time with family in town making meals instead.

Family Time& Life

The parents and I spent a lot of time with our dogs and going to hockey games this month. Then we had our extended family in town for Thanksgiving. I was able to host Thanksgiving dinner at my house!!! We also spent a day at the beach and did some exploring. Family can be a wee tad stressful but it’s always great to see them and have them in town <3

11/9 - 5-3 win over the Orlando Solar Bears

11/28 - 5-4 OT win over the Greensboro Gargoyles

Birthday with friends

I got to celebrate with my friends in multiple ways for my birthday this month. I got to see the new wicked movie with all my book besties. And then I got to see my friend debut as a drag queen. My friends definitely gave me a lot to be thankful for this season <3<3<3

Yallfest

Every year, Blue Bicycle Books here in Charleston hosts a giant YA (Young Adult) book festival called YALLfest. It’s a fantastic time where readers and authors and publishers come together for a weekend of literary celebration. Last year I volunteered for the first time and loved it so I decided to volunteer again. I spent one day at the info booth helping authors and readers find their way, and then spent the second day at the Charleston Music Hall helping to organize author panels. If you love books, I cannot recommend a trip to Charleston for this annual weekend festival enough.

Work trip to Atlanta

Quick one day trip over to Atlanta for a site visit. Best part was having some time at ATL before my flight home to set up at PF Changs, get some tasty food, and get some work done on my laptop. Sometimes it’s the little breaks in a whirlwind day that are key.

Silent Book Club Charleston - Monthly meetups

We met twice this month. First we had a crossover with the Summerville chapter at the newly opened Love Spell Books. Then we had our second meetup at the bar All My Exes in Avondale / West Ashley. Such a fun mix of events, check out the Instagram page for some bonus events in the next few months!

Random house updates:

  • My kitchen floor & cabinets were all installed

  • My floors FINALLY got re-finished. This had to happen after thanksgiving but they look so prettyyyyy
