August Eats:
Here are all of the noteworthy places where I ate in Charleston, SC in August 2024.
The Archer - Downtown, On upper Meeting Street (almost to Nomo).
From the owners of Berkley’s comes a dining & cocktail inspired delight. Always a great vibe, always a great cocktail, always a few great veggie friendly options on the menu.
Five Loaves Cafe - Summerville
This spot is always a great choice when going up to Summerville for the day.
Sugey’s Bar - Downtown, upper King Street
One of my favorite dive bars in town, they do a mean punch bowl and always have some kind of 80s movie on the tv.
Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop - Downtown, Upper King Street
An absolute DREAM of a bakery. Go early to avoid the line, but if you have to wait it’s still worth it. Get anything and everything from the case and revel in the joy of baked heaven. Don’t let Fred’s forlorn face fool you, they even have dog biscuits at the counter.
Lola’s Lumpia - Food Truck
I had this at a BTS Charleston event held at Brew up in Hanahan, and it was tasty! I got the Vegetable Pancit Plate (mix of noodles, rice, and rolls), and it was all veggie friendly so yay!

Dinner at Chasing Sage (monthly Spotlight)
Chasing Sage is my favorite restaurant downtown. I come here often for a fantastic time, and this month I remembered to take photos at multiple meals so here is a spread of selections over multiple nights. All were delicious, obviously.
